my cat got sores on his body every once in while it was nothing that i was worried about he acted like he normally acted and they didn't seem to get bigger or get infected and they went away within a month. I wouldn't worry to much else you notice some sudden changes in the sore

If it will take a week or so to get back to you at the vet, why do you think anyone on here can give you a quicker answer. We can't see the culture any faster. It is not good that the cats sore won't heal, that could be a lot of things, it could have an immune deficiency illness, yes aids, and it could be cancer, it could be lots of things, none of them I hope your cat has. Don't panic, It should not take a week only overnight from the lab. If your vet says a week he is lying.

I would think any type of sore on you cat should be looked into. There are plenty of folks who didn't, and regretted it later. Is the sore a bump? Will the fur and skin split, or come off? Is it large or just a small sore? There are alot of questions to consider before making a decision if its bad or OK. These are some questions the vet people will ask. Let the pro's help you.. It will be best for kittie in the long run.

Just wait for the vet's response. It could be nothing or it could be something seriously important. But until you know for sure remember an old quote "hope for the best but expect the worst"

It could just be that your cat won't leave the sore alone? I know many cats who will scratch or bite sores so they won't heal. Hope it turns out to be something simple like that!

Just wait and see what the results are and keep an eye on the behavior of your cat.

If semthing was VERY wrong and urgent the vet would have given you something in the meantime. I hope s/he is ok just get a warm damp towel and bathe it to prevent infection.

You will have to wait for the results. There is no reason to worry, because it won't do you any good. What will be, will be.
