to be honest there's not much to do in Scarborough at this time of year...
there are loads of amusements on the sea front but i guess they can get quite boring after a while!
there are loads of shops so that's a possibility but if you're on holiday i doubt you'd want to spend your days in shops!
A visit to the Sea Life centre is naturally something which may appeal to you

if you've got transport then go to Flamingo Land
http://www.flamingoland.co.uk/planvisit.htm
it's about 20 minutes from Scarborough and your bound to have a good day out there. alternatively why not go on the north yorkshire moors railway, it's about 20 minutes from Scarborough

check out these sites, hope I've given you some ideas! check out this site too http://www.discoveryorkshirecoast.com/scarborough_welcome.asp
Have fun!
Oh, btw, if you don't have your own transport you can get trains from Scarborough direct to York/Leeds and further afield. You might also like to visit the Yorkshire Coastliner website which offers you the chance to travel on buses to a variety of destinations

Its a long time to spend there without leaving scarborough, they run very cheap trips to other places from the centre of scarborough, we went to york for the day. There are good shops in scarbrough and some good restaurants in the evenings. Along the front they have entertainment all night but its not places i would advise taking an 11 month old! From the centre its a very short bus ride to a big park (about 5 mins) and they have ice creams, a cafe and loads of different birds and things, its really nice. There is a lot more to scarborough than the seafront, walk up the back roads and there are little craft shops and things and little cafes which are lovely and the people are really nice. But yes definatly go on some trips out of scarborough if your there so long.

Scarborough is rather varied in it's attraction's, from Boat trips, Arcades and Amusements a Sea Life centre, the Castle one of the Brontes is buried there Peaseholme Park, some excellent restaurants and cafes. You can catch a bus to Bridlington, Whitby or Filey. Try getting the number of information they may send you some leaflets.

Visit York!! Its a 1 hour drive from Scarborough and is amazing also Peasholme park good for seeing the animals and grounds (if dry) and Skirlington Sunday market is worth a look. The Hornsea free port is OK but not great for the wee one.
