I saw this answer a while ago. I don't see how not believing in God, or not believing in the bible, like me, should be any threat to Christianity.

Read this answer: "It's all about the Liberal Secular Atheists that have been trying to destroy Christianity and Judaism for years. Notice that these same groups hid under the table when the Mu hammed picture scandal hit and millions of Muslims violently protested. They target Christians and Jews because they know we won't riot, burn and chant madly in packs of thousands. Remember when
"The Passion" came out how the atheists and secular tried to derail Christianity? It only made us stronger and I say we should do the same with that fraud Cameron. I'll NEVER watch any film he's involved in again. As for me, Jesus is Lord and if they're no on board there's nothing we can do for them but pity them. "

Are you a liberal secular Atheist? I am a liberal secular believer in God, but not that monster in the bible.

No, I'm waging a war on ignorance and bigotry...Whether Christianity becomes a casualty is up to the believers of that faith.

That's fine. I agree, there's no reason to be threatened. Atheists are not a cohesive group. We don't have atheist clubs or atheist Sunday meetings. There are no atheist agendas. Knowing I'm an atheist means you know *one* thing about me. I don't believe in any gods. The rest could be anything at all.

As far as "The Passion" goes, I heard a lot more negative and vocal outcry from Christian groups than secular ones. In fact, I don't remember any comments at all from any purely secular group, not that a group being secular means it's made up of atheists anyhow, as you seem to be aware.

I'll tell anyone who asks me about it that I don't believe that their god exists. I don't go out out and protest, but I don't pretend to believe something I don't if someone inquires, be they Christian, Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Wiccan, or whatever. Christians just hear it more often because they seem to be the least likely to keep it to themselves. Also I don't get many threats of eternal torture from the rest of the groups, so my animosity towards them is admittedly lower.

doesnt it amaze you how some people can actually think?

What about the rest of the religions? are they not trying to destroy christianity as well? lol

Christians are the only ones who can destroy their own religion. just because someone (me) do not believe in the bible or even the christian god or satan does not mean I am trying to destroy their religion.. I would think that if someone does not have anything to do with a religion then they have no influence on that religion..
But like I said christians are the only ones who can destroy their religion. They just like putting the blame on someone else where they wont have to take the blame for it..

The Passion? What exactly did it demonstrate? It was a blockbuster! I don't know anyone, including myself, who asked the government to censor it.

Aside from the fact that Godzilla may be CRUSHING Christianity (she does that), I don't think atheists are actively interfering with Christianity.

But I have a 1st Amendment right not to be a Christian, and I think that's what bothers people.

Sick of this question...sorry I bothered..This is how it goes..I believe in god..and the answer lies in the AC/DC song.."It's a long way to the top"..Please Listen..40 years of bad road and you're still jerking off..Intellectual Boxing won't win you your sense of Soul you flagrantly seek..Expect the nasty and the bad that has to be earned not on a fuc*ing computer but in the world of People..the past the present..and if you're lucky..the future..You are blessed and **** in your own nest..I love you anyway.

Its not a threat to Christianity. People get so emotional- I must admit I do to sometimes. If anything those kind of answers turn people further away from God. Anyway I myself have been guilty of emotional answers from time to time. Perhaps this person had a little too much coffee this morning.

I believe what I believe based on my own personal experiences. I have a right to believe the way I see fit. Christians have the same right to believe as they see fit. The problem happens when Christians try to influence the lives of others through legislation based on their religious beliefs. When they try to push their religious beliefs into law, then they should damn well better expect to get pushed back.

Well I am a liberal and an atheist so I guess guilty as charged. I saw The Passion, though. Wanted to see what all the hub bub was about. Anyway, I'm not out to destroy anyone's religion. I just want them to keep it to themselves, i.e out of schools, laws, etc.

No. Christians don't get it. You can have your religion. No one cares what you believe. What they care about is when you are knocking on their door/following them down the street preaching your gospel, when you're trying to get your religion made into law, when you're trying to get your religion taught in science class, etc.

If you Christians could learn to keep your religion to yourselves (like pretty much every other religion in the world except the Muslims. But even they aren't as bad), then we'd all get along fine.

I think Christianity is doing a good enough job of destroying itself. Generally, Atheists don't care enough about Christianity to try to destroy it.
