Always offer to split things (either evenly or according to who bought what). If he offers to pay, make a little effort ("No, it's okay, I can pay for my own.") and then drop it with a "Thank you," if he continues to insist. Never just let a guy pay and never get upset if they agree to go dutch without offering to pay. We live in modern times and it's okay if he wants to be old-fashioned, but you should also be willing to foot your own bill. If a guy insists on paying, I usually say "Okay, but I'll pick up the bill next time." If next time rolls around and he still insists on paying, I don't make a big deal out of it.

A gentleman pays for all dates.
You can offer to "throw in"...more than likely he'll decline.

EDIT:
On my coffee dates...I always tried to pay my tab...he insisted I be treated like a lady...so, he picked it up.

If he asked he should pay. If it is a first meeting and you both agree to meet up then you should suggested paying your half - if he insists on paying let him.

Since you offered...it should be you but if he is a gentleman, then he would tell you don't worry about it...If he pays and you asked him that is a good sign.

To be safe and not give a bad impression . Offer to split the tab. If he offers after your offer, than gracefully except.

it depends on who is asking who out~ if u asked him out...u are basically inviting him...so u pay...but...if he asks you out then he pays~......i dated this major turd years ago...yes yrs ago......
that invited me out for pizza and then after we ate he tallyed up how much i would owe him for 2 pieces of pizza and 1 soda!!! talk about rude and cheap!! i went off on his butt (on the phone the next day) ...i dumped him too ...it was around xmas and i even got hima xmas present and he got me nothing...that was the straw that broke the camels back too!!
so remember if he asked u out he pays!
u ask him out be prepared to pay! but most "gentlemen" insist on paying~ even though u ask him out...
