Do you realize that by bringing attention to certain bands who put satanic references in their music, that you are actually HELPING them sell their music. Some bands put references in their music just to get you to protest it and draw attention to their music. Does it bother you that by protesting concerts that you are carrying out a form of advertisement for them?

actually- I would never tell you not to protest music... I just don't see why you guys keep doing it when that was such a driving force to bring up so many young artists... Its like stamping a guarantee on cds that this music will piss off your parents!

So you're saying that Christians are influencing what people buy?
You've uncovered our secret agenda. Now we must protest country music.

Many are interested on controversy. And it is used as a marketing technique. For ex. : the White Rapper who usually sing about his Mom make his albums controversial, and many was fooled and bought it. Another one, the Da Vinci Code, if it is not a controversial film, only few will watch it.
But about music protest, Please don't say that we must or we must not protest the music, we must protest about te lyrics. It'spossible for me to bug down the face of a person who blasphems the Lord in front of many people, but that's not good and i'll try to control myself becoz I admit I'm also a sinner and nobody is perfect. Therefore, hate the things that these people do but do not hate them, we must Love them instead.
Maybe that's how the devil deceits us when we noticed some people blasphems the Lord and we do bad things to them instead of following what Jesus said: "Love your enemies."

I guess I don't live in an area where I've heard of Christians protesting concerts.
I wouldn't protest a certain type of music but if the lyrics are negative, destructive and ultimately lead others to sin, then yes, I guess I would have to stand up for what is right and moral.
If we don't....who will??

Did you also know that when they were protesting Iron maiden the number of the beast back in the 80's - that song was just about those verses in revelations. They basically called the bible satanic!

Hmm, I never protest against specific bands. What you need to do is sit down on an individual basis and read lyrics. My next interest will probably be ldsscripturerock.com anyway.

Yeah- never got that logic either. I am totally against that whole freaky picketing thing too. It gives all of Christianity a bad name. It is not our job to police the world it is our job to witness to. to show closed minded radicalist view points does not do anything to witness to people. God gave us free will. Which means that music and books and movies are available and free to watch. We go against God when we try to halt free will. Its the craziest thing. I never got it and I totally agree with you.

Some "satanic" lyrics sound like they were taken right out of the Old Testament.

It could also be a warning to those who they deem as trying to listen to the holy spirit.
