I believe this needs changed after 60,000 miles

Not sure about diesels but all the 4-cyl engines were Zetec and therefor have belts NOT chains. Later mondeos had chains (duratec engines) as did all V6

Ford recomend 80,000-100,000. All I'd say is you're brave if you leave it much past 50,000......

Hi there,
I have just checked Autodata and after double checking, from 1800cc petrol all the way through to 3000cc st 220 petrols and diesels, they all seem to be chains.
Ford did do alot of engines built using t/belts and more info from yourself would help.

My husband says about 50,000 to 70.000 miles or every 5 years, but me ??? I'd ask a ford dealer (on the phone) good luck, .

it depends what engine it has but a lot of the petrol's are 100 tho or 10 years
