It's much easier to simply repeat the sentimental rhetoric than to apply the philosophy. I talked with a devout Catholic man who said that it isn't necessary for people to read the bible, because everything you need to know is contained in the mass. If you read the whole thing, you might have questions. If you ask the questions, who can give you a definitive answer? You'll get so many conflicting answers, you'll end up wishing you hadn't asked at all. The lesson is: Don't think. Just have "faith".

confident. I even have study countless the substantial philosophical and holy books in my faith. They comprise the 4 Vedas, 6 Upanishads, 6 Puranas, Bhagavad Gita and a few different doctrines of Hindu faith. I dont take what's written in them with none attention yet extract the 'products' in them and discard the 'bads'. As regards your question, faith has an fairly close affinity with non secular books, so the extra you study non secular books the extra you're linked on your faith. real Spirituality is the only thank you to seek for the divine in our self.

They are too lazy!! And Yes, I have read the Whole Bible twice and the New Testament several. It's a Book and needs to be read through. Christians wait for their Pastor to read it For them and that's irresponsible. Many of them can recite scriptures right and left, when I cannot cite the exact passage but I remember the sotry and it's plot, but They just know Those!! READ THE BOOK!! You have a point. (I feel like I just lost a game of tug of war!! Well I have to go back over to the other side now. Thanks!!) Peace.

Did this knowledge of Holy Book Reading Participants come to you as you were riding down the road on your motorcycle? I didn't notice a source quoted. Most everyone I know at my church has read their entire Bible as they must have done to be confirmed at age 12 and I know Mormon children have to read the book of Mormon as part of their training. I have seen classrooms full of Muslim children on TV who were rocking back and forth as they read their holy book and I know that Jewish children have to have read it by the age of twelve to have their Bar Mitzva. I don't think you have researched this information very well at all. Have you read your entire motorcycle manual or just parts of it?

I think the most of the people follows the religion of their parents and that's why the son of christian will become christian and Muslims son Muslim likewise Jews son Jew and after that they only try to get only primary knowledge of their religion just to show to others that they knew their religion otherwise it is not important for them as far as faith is concerned but these people i mean religious quacks are very dangerous to the society.

Because they're stupid and got nothing better to do. They prefer that others read it for them and interpret it for them and tell them what to do..its just easier.
I was born and raised catholic then became a born again christian for 4 years.
during that time my MOM finally got to reading the bible that was on her dresser draw collecting dust.
Well she read almost all of it and went through the catholic commentary instead.
Now that ive read it so many times im now gladly a pagan.
Been like this since 1991.
It didmake me think "What the hell was i thinking?"
No wonder there is so much killing these days.

What facts do you base your question upon? I know a lot of Christians who read their Bible from cover to cover over the course of a year. . .I'm one of them. And that's in addition to any Bible studies that I'm doing at the time.
I think that you'll find a lot of Christians are well versed (pardon the pun) in the entire Bible, not just parts of it.

Most religious books are long and boring. Who can blame them for not reading their holy books.
