I thought that it was compelling and am waiting to see what happens with this in the future. I am Catholic, too, and personally have an easier time believing that the tomb of the family of Jesus was found by accident rather than if someone had set out to look for it. It gives it a little more credibility to me.
It will be sad if the subject is dropped and not investigated further.

As I'm reading responses to this and other similar questions, I'm surprised at how many people are answering when they admit they either haven't watched it, or turned it off after a few minutes. How can you form an opinion about something without hearing both sides of the argument?
As for myself, I watched the entire documentary on Discovery last night, and also the debate following hosted by Ted Koppel. I am an Atheist, but have no interest in proving or disproving any religious ideas. I merely watched it because I have a strong interest in Archaeology.
I found the whole thing very interesting. My feeling is that indeed it was the tomb of Jesus. However, as a scientist, I would love to see more work done on this subject to further substantiate the claim.

I saw parts of the "Documentary" then watched the Critique portion afterwards.
I agree that the ideas presented by the film greatly contradicts Christian belief, but from what the Priest said the the Critique segment after the film, that his personal belief is not shaken by the ideas the film presents.
Personally even IF the ideas presented are found to be possible or true, I doubt that my faith will be shaken. Yes it will cause a re-write of out doctrines and creeds, but the essential truth was there was a Jesus Christ who preached the holy word and that's all that matters for me at least.

I was interested for the first several minutes (!), until they kept hammering away at the inscriptions on the ossuaries, and their interviews up to that point seemed only to substantiate the theme of the subject's title.
Then, I turned on a movie. I dismissed this bogus "documentary," because it simply is not a documentary (I didn't see any opposing viewpoints or objective perspective).
I think it was presumptuous of the Discovery Channel to title this "The Lost Tomb of Jesus," given the mounting evidence to the contrary, also. Should have called it something like "The Lost Tomb of Jesus Ratings Special."

Theres no proof that the tomb is infact Jesus'. He was most deffiantly not the only Jesus of his time(the name). The name Jesus was in fact pretty common back then. Archiologists and historians will do anything to try and prove that the Bible is wrong, but the funny thing is that it has totally withstanded with power any tests thrown at its accuracy. God is real!
Oh, and what proof is there that Jesus was actually married and had a child named Judah? I mean please, people dont want to accept the truth. If the've ever read the Bible then... you know what, forget that. Even without the Bible being used, it still doesnt even make since.

I think it was sad how it ended with Israel coming in and telling them to get lost after they had found that writing on the wall without a chance to find out what it read. Just goes to show that they didn't excavate it as closely as they said they did. It was just another grave to them and nothing more...shame on those Archaeologists for discounting something just because they didn't want to accept the proof of it! It got me sick how they just shoved the whole idea aside.

If what they said was true, then I would find it hard NOT to believe that this REALLY is the Tomb of Jesus!!
Why not? You dont really believe his whole body ascended into heaven do you? Or that a 25-30 yr. old man was actually NOT married 2000 yrs ago????

After watching the documentary and the commentary that followed, I have to say there is more evidence that they found the tomb of Jesus than there is for any other aspect of biblical history.

There is enough there to keep talking and researching. How ridiculous would it be to ignore such a finding? They really need to get those bones dug up again.

I would like to have seen more DNA results -- especially between Jesus and his brother.
