First, you cannot tell him before you hurt him. He will be hurt either way. Secondly, leaving someone you "really honestly love" for something new is pretty childish. The thing you should do if you want to try this new thing is tell him before you have any ties to him. ANY ties, such as a house together, bank account, and any other materialistic ties, or a child, marriage, and any other "unmaterialistic" ties. If you already have ties, you should consider how immature it is to leave someone you've established, or started to establish, a life with for some "NEW" thing. If everyone left their lives behind for some impulse to try something new monogamy would not exist and we'd be overpopulated. You cannot honestly say you love someone and then say you're leaving that same person on some impulse. Either you do love him and you're sadistic and enjoy watching him suffer, or you're lying about loving him. Anyone who can hurt someone they love in such a manner is twisted.

What? Homosexuality never did any thing for any one! If you honestly love the guy, keep on loving him! besides, think about your social status. If you told every one that you're a fairy, you'd be turned down by every one! That isn't the only reason, but God created Men for Women, and Women for Men! Homosexuality, despite all those that say you should try it, is sick, twisted, and just plain old wrong! Seriously, just don't do it. You could have a very beautiful relationship with your Man. Why leave him?
Why not consider dating both at the same time. It's called polyamory.
Just be open and honest about it. With both of them. If they can handle it, and you can handle either or both of them dating others too, then you don't have to loose one love to gain another.
And to answer some of the (epithet deleted) people who posted before this, it is not only possble, but more common than most consider to fall in love with more than one person at a time. My last relationship was with two people, my ex-bf and ex-gf; they loved each other and me. I loved them both and still do.

You don't, because he'll want to join in!!! Just tell him that it's over and you don't want to see him anymore. If you tell him that you're leaving him for another woman then he'll think that he's sooo bad in bed that you've gone off all men....
Just dump him....

It's better to just tell him. He will probably be hurt, but, you shouldn't really worry about that. You have made the decision as to what you want to do. Have the respect of letting him make his own decisions based on what you tell him.
