Me and my mom go on and off of 'close realtions'. Usually when somethin happens to me, like my bf leaves me, we talk and talk and talk, but when I do something and I don't want to talle her, I can't. She's always telling me that I can tell her anything but I don't know if I can. Plus, I was dating a guy for about 6 months. We'd ben on and off those months. Everytime something would happen between me and him, my mom would talk to me, if nothing was wrong, she wouldn't care. Can I really tell her anything?

I'm 35 and this is still the type of relationship I have with my mom. I think it's because when we have a bf the mom's think well they don't have time for me. Then when we are single the mom's thinking "oh now they have time for just me".
I've learned not to talk to my mom about certain problems that I have in a relationship because it would get tossed in my face when things were going good.
I think mom's are jealous when their daughters time isn't all for them. When I'm single me and my mom have the best relationship. We can spend all day shopping and going out to eat. But then my dad gets jealous from the time we are spending together. It's an never ending battle I guess.
Now I'm in a relationship and I've just bought a house right next door to my mom. We spend time together just her and I. Once a month I'll take a day off of work and just be with my mom. That seems to make her happy. There are times I wish I could tell my mom anything. But I've learned if you want you mom to like your man don't tell her the things that he does that make you mad or you'll never hear the end of it.
Some things just have to be between you and a good friend rather then your mom. Good luck with your relationship. It doesn't always get better but in time it gets easier to deal with.

Tell her how you feel. She may think that she is giving you space and privacy and doesn't want to intrude too much. If you really want to talk to her even when nothing is going wrong in your life, start telling her little things once is a while. If she starts asking you often about what's going on in your life and starts talking to you more, you may want to go back to the way you have it now. If she has told you that you can tell her anything, then I believe that she means it or she wouldn't have said it.

When you have problems - she runs to you. That's what mother do. She's trying to ease your pain.

You can talk to her anytime - not just whenever there's a problem. I'm sure she loves to hear from you.
