After 5 years of being in a relationship that should give the person enough time to know wether or not if they want to spend the rest of there life wiith them.

it depends on wether both of you are ready to take that step.Don't rush into it just because you've been goin out for 5 years. If you think you're ready to commit then go for it. If not then there's nothing wrong with dating for a bit longer.

I have none people that have been together for 9 yrs and then got married and all hell broke lose.I have also have none people that got married after 3 months and had been married for over 40 yrs it just depends if the two of you are really ready for this big step or not.

It all depends on what makes you two happy, if marriage isn't in the picture for you two than don't bother with rush and stress of getting married. but if you want to than hint to him the possiblity that you plan to have a future with this person.

why get married
you already know you care about each other
and you don't need to be married to be on a checking account or anything else
i have been happily UNMARRIED for many many yrs
i wear a ring and we said vows in the back yard with friends and family

depends if its what you both want, lots of people stay together for life without getting married
look at Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel there not married but been together 25 years
