more than 1 day. you need to gain muscle to affect your metabolism positively. in additon you will mess up your metabolism if you do not eat properly over time meaning unhealthy eating habits.

Hmm, I'm not completely sure, but I do know that nutritionists will always recommend that you eat every four hours because it will keep your metabolism up. However, I'm not sure if one day will affect your metabolic cycle. I would say no, though.

I also wouldn't recommend that you eat only 600 calories as a routine (unless of course you're sick or something and are unable to eat). It can screw with your nutrient levels in your body, which can affect other things.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

People usually gain the weight back because they start eating like they used to before they went on a diet. Increase the amount gradually... maybe consume like 1000 calories for the first week, 1200 calories for the week after...and see how your weight behaves with the change of your calorie intake. I lost 30lbs from starvation and haven't gained any weight back...because I increased the calorie intake slowly and carefully watched my weight.

It takes a lot more than one day to effect your metabolism.
