my day starts with a cup of cornflakes, or sometimes rice and juice. then i walk to school a long way. at school, i eat reasonably, a sandwich or a ''fat pizza''(being honest). then after school, i walk back home with a friend slowly. quite a long way though, but i walk lot slower than mornings. then after coming home, i eat a lot. really a lot lot and lot. i really feel hungry. i feel like eating tasty food, so obviously i eat something like two or three crisps packets, a cheesy sandwich, etc..etc.. i think of eating for at least two hours after coming home. then finally a little bit of dinner after homework and then bed. then morning, same thing again. is my lifestyle ok? or i need to change a few things.

Unless you are getting pudgy, don't worry. You are still growing and that takes a lot of energy. And your metabolism is still running at a very high rate.

Just don't think you can eat this way forever. And start working some veggies into your diet.

The walking is a good thing, as is having breakfast Have some fruit juice as well as the cereal. Lunch needs to be something that will give energy to last the afternoon - a sandwich is good, but have an apple or an orange as well.

When you get home from school, another light snack is in order - a bacon sandwich or some toasted crumpets will be better than crisps.

Finally, dinner needs to be something substantial - meat, potatoes and at least one vegetable portion. If you stoke up on good, cooked foods at night, you will be less inclined to snack during the day.

I am a trained chef, and a qualified nutritionist, so I am pleased to see that you think about food. Try to put this thinking to good use and decide what style of food suits you best. Do you prfefer the British cooked breakfast and meat and two veg, or does Italian, Greek or Indian food seeem more up your street. When you've decided what you like, get a book out from the library about your chosen cuisine and see if you can persuade the household cook to cook some of the dishes for you, or, even better, cook them for yourself. There are some incredibly easy Italian pasta dishes to make. Don't buy jars of pasta sauce or curry paste - these sauces are very easy to make and taste so much better than the industrialised gloop from a jar.

Keep your fatty pizzas and crisps for the weekend. A treat of something "naughty but nice" is good for you, as long as you don't try to live entirely upon junk food. However, instead of crisps, try sauteeing some sliced potatoes in sunflower oil. It only takes 15 minutes and they are much cheaper and very much more tasty than a packet of crisps.

There's nothing wrong with your lifestyle - you have breakfast, lunch, a snack when you get home and then dinner after homework. You even admit to doing your homework! All you need is a few tweaks, especially a substantial dinner in the evening.

Finally, if you wish to learn cookery, don't be put off by Gordon Ramsay and the fiddly food on Masterchef. Watch "Saturday Cooks" - Antony Worral Thomson and his crew cook some spendid dishes that are easy but satisfying to cook, and very good to eat. The best book to get is you want to learn is "Practical Cookery" by Ceserani and Kinton.

what you are doing is binge eating. eating small amounts during the day then unloading on your kitchen. try eating throughout the day. small meals 6 times a day. everyone likes eating tasty food! some people can eat everything under the sun and not gain a pound- most people arent like that. I agree with the first lady who answered- eat more fruits and veggies and whole grains. make sure you are eating a lot of protein because it will make you feel fuller longer.

its good you are walking but if you are looking to burn calories and fat you will need to walk at a faster pace- something that gets your heartrate up. maybe try jogging home.

think about this as well- many people use food for comfort- do you feel lonely when you get home? do you find eating makes you feel comforted? you dont have to answer us, but you might want to think about where this is coming from. and i think that even if we all feel your habits are normal- you obviously dont or you wouldnt be asking. take care!

wow, it was fine until u mentioned the eating loads and loads bit! heres a tip that i use to help me eat less:
when u eat something, eat it slowly, like chew a crisp or a bite around 10 times. its wierd but eating slower helps u 2 feel hungrier and u eat less.
also if u still feel hungry have some bread..that fills me up.
about the pizza, try only having it 3 times a week, then cut down to 2 times a week then 1nce a week then only have it 1nce a month.

You should try drinking plenty of water when you are thinking of food a lot as water can fill you up! but as already said you are still young and need plenty of food ,try eating more fruit rather than crisps and cheesy sandwichs ! keep up the walking !

I think you really do know the answer. Great that you are walking how about changing your diet. Fresh veg, fruit, wholemeal bread, fish, lean meat, lots of water - try to cut out the crisps, I guess your energy levels are quite low and maybe your mood! Healthy diet is the way to go best of luck.

The walking sounds really good! it's important to exercise regularly. however the crisps are nothing but bad bad bad!! they are full of crap-never fill you up-make you crave more etc. Why don't you try having a piece of fruit if you're peckish...or even a cracker (something baked rather then fried)!!

keep up the healthy brekkie and walking!!
