Hi, I converted to being a Muslim this past January. What made me convert? Well, before I didn't like Islam at all. I believed that the religion was wrong and the followers were all crazy. However, I have a boyfriend who is a Muslim and he is the most wonderful man I ever met. He showed me that Islam was nothing like I thought it would. During this time, I would come on this site and people were mocking Islam and I would defend the religion in honor of my boyfriend. By doing this, I came across sites that explained the true Islam. Also, by reading Muslim's answers, I came to think that Islam is not that bad after all. So, I researched Islam and I found it to the right path for me. Needless to say, I feel in love with Islam. So, in January I came to the conclusion that I belonged in Islam. Now, I'm a happy Muslim. I feel blessed that I found Allah. I know now that terrorism doesn't = Islam. Islam = peace and love. Nobody can change my mind except myself and I know I will never forsake Allah. He gave me life, a wonderful (that I miss so much) family, great friends (that I can't wait to see again) a house to live in, food to eat and a wonderful opportunity to live abroad in Germany. Altogether, I'm feeling like I'm on the top of the world, except when I'm homesick for my family and friends.

Story from a Sister.
The Biggest Change in My Life
As salaamu alaykum warahmatuallaah wabarakatuh,
I want to talk to you about my life before and after Hijab. I am a Muslim girl 20 years old from Arabian Gulf " The original place of Islam." I used to believe that hijab is not an important issue. And it's lucking my freedom. So I decided that I would never were Hijab as long as I live. Although my mother wears Hijab but she never convinces my sisters or me to wear it. She thought that you have to believe in it to do it or else you will take it off as soon as we are far away from her. And I think that it might be right in some way...for the full article visit my blog...Ma as salama

As-salaamu 'alaykum wa 'alayna wa 'alaa ibadilaahi salahiyn(Peace be upon you and upon us and the righteous slaves of God).
I remember the exact date of my Shahadatiyn(Testimonies). It was July 14 of 2006.
My mentor's name was Muwsa Islam(Moses Salem/Moshe Shalom/Mercy Peace) and Allah saw fit to bless me with the amount of knowledge that my mentor has bestowed upon me in the 7 months that I was under his tutelage.
My mentor was raised a Christian, became a 5 Percenter, then a member of the Nation of Islam, until he finally found the purest form of Islam. Being a part of all of those religions, he knew the loopholes and missing pieces along with the refutations for and against them as well as those for and against pure Islam.
I was named Jihaad 'Abdur-rahiym Al-Waliyahuldiyn(Struggle, Slave of the Most Merciful, the Protector of the Judgment) due to what Muwsa called my 'ferocity and fidelity' for Islam.
My background before I was brought out of Jahiliyaah(Days of Ignorance) was that I was raised Roman Catholic, became Christian, Zen Buddhist, member of the Nation of Islam, atheist, agnostic, then finally pure Muslim.
I've studied almost all different faiths as extensively as I could for about 11 years and especially delved into the knowledge of Islam for the past 8 months. I am currently teaching two of my beloved brothers as best I can to defend, uphold, and restore the Diyn(Judgement/'Faith') of Islam.
Seek knowledge for knowledge is power; power is freedom; freedom is peace...
So may peace be upon you...

I converted to Islam about a month ago. I found Islam and it's teachings to be the true way to eternal bliss in Heaven. I feel that being a Muslim in the USA, definitely gets criticized too much by people who don't understand the true teachings of Islam and only see the radical sects as reported by the media.
As-salaamu alaykum
