Probaly because they don't want to get hurt. They have either heard of or experienced being dumped, and it does NOT sound appealing to them. But I say, you don't live long, might as well take your chances!

Most of people say that because of bad experience, wrong time, wrong place, etc so many reasons. For me, I do want to fall in love but not right now because I will move out to different place soon and i dont want to meet someone now and then hurt by the end. Yes we do have choices.

They say that because when you fall in love and it doesn't work out, it hurts like Heck! It's a lot easier to have an attraction to someone than an emotional connection. But some people cannot get involved without the "emotional" connection. But I also believe, you cannot help who you fall in love with... That part is out of your control!

Making any declaration of TRUE LOVE for another human being requires commitment. And as much as your companion might like you..."total exclusivity" with one person isn't always easy!
Love can be just friendship providing it's casual. But when it gets really serious between 2 people---exclusivity takes over!

because they do not want to either get hurt or...they do not want to settle down incase some other "hottie comes along that might be a better catch"...

cause they dont want to get crushed. they were probaly hurt by someone they loved before and they dont want that to happen again.
