Why is it that when you are at the grocery store, (or any store really) that people think it's ok to be rude? Everytime I go to the store I run across some person who thinks it's ok to push my cart out of the way with my baby in it, but don't ask me to move it. Run into my cart with their own. Take clearenced items out of my hands when I am looking at them (this is true, it happened at Target, she said, "Let me see that!") Bump into you without saying excuse me. Make a smart *** comment if you forget to to put the divider on the register. I mean what is going on? As a society have we forgotten the tried and true "You get more bees with honey than vinager?" I always try to be nice because I totally believe in karma. I guess my question is: Are people just mean and rude in this day and age?

Ok I am not weak. If I wanted to I could just ***** them out for being assholes. I just don't think that's right.

People are extremely rude these days. It boggles me. My mother raised me to be kind and courteous at all times, no matter what. Life is way too short to go through it angry and confrontational. So, when I was 16 and got my first job in retail, I had a rude awakening. It seems kind, polite people are very much the minority. So many people think the world owes them something. Every little thing makes them mad. Even people who were trying to scam us and return a stolen item acted like us requiring the receipt was the most awful thing we could do to them. People should just relax, it makes life a lot more enjoyable! When someone is rude, just be sickeningly sweet back, it's called killing them with kindness, and it works wonders!

If someone's cart is blocking the entire grocery lane so people cannot pass on either side, I gently push that cart out of the way, baby or no baby. It's inconsiderate and rude to just park that cart anywhere. As for taking a clearance item out of my hand, I probably would have called for security. Someone is much too close for comfort there. That's over the line.

It's a horrible world that treats others this way. I've noticed it as well and it's a lot of middle aged people. They are making it difficult to be nice to anyone! There are people of all ages out there acting this way, but I think as a society we put up a guard when we are around others and become hostile. When there are self checkouts everywhere, it's like we don't want to talk to other people while out in 'public'. The only thing I find that keeps me sane in this world of anger and resentment is to be really nice to all. I overdo the cheesy friendliness with everyone because it bugs them more than their anger and rudeness bothers me!! So be really nice and they'll feel like idiots for being so rude. Good Luck!

Yes, people are very rude these days. Very self-centered. I'm not sure all the causes, but I do know many of them, but the scary thing is that these people are passing this behavior on to their children. And when it gets them into trouble at school, then the parents just cuss out the teacher for "getting their kid in trouble."

I've notice in the suburbs where I live people are ruder than in the neighborhood where my grandma lives I like going to the Walmart near her home cause the people are soooo much nicer when you say excuse me they will actually move thier cart for you instead of giving you the evil eye . . .

Those things haven't happened to me. I'm thinking you might be seen as weak and some people feed off of that.
Or you're not aware of your surroundings that maybe you are in the way.
You need to feel more assertive about yourself and stop putting out that you are a victim.
Good luck.

Yes, most people are rude, selfish and inconsiderate. I try to be pleasant to everyone, but some people really make it difficult.

my gosh what city are you in?
You must shop in the rough side of town!
I still let people with one item get ahead of me in line and chat with strangers when they ask for help.
