I'm a 23 year old, in pretty good health (I would say). I've never had any health problems or surgeries.

There's a slight tinging in my right arm (forearm) and right hand. It's been going on since yesterday, off and on.

What could this be? Is it normal?

You might have a pinched nerve in your neck. If it persists see a doctor. If it really is pinched there is not too much they can do about it but if it is anything else it is worth getting checked. There are a number of serious causes but if you are really in good health they are unlikely (diabetes, alcoholism, carpal tunnel syndrome, hypocalcemia, spinal cord lesion, nerve root compression, herpes, MS, neuropathy, and partial seizure).

How well I know that sensation. Every answer I've read could be a potential cause. But you did mention your forearm was involved as well. In many cases tingling in the arm radiating into the hand is most likely indicative of what the nursing student said-a pinched nerve, but I'll add that it would more than likely be a nerve being compressed in your neck. Is your entire hand affected or is it confined to just a few fingers? That was one of the first symptoms I had before I discovered I had a deteriorating cervical disk causing the compression.(Tingling down the forearm and into my thumb and index finger) Of course you need to see a professional. Some problems like that can be managed by physical therapy and others by surgery. It just depends on the severity. Just a thought. Realistically, there's over 25 different causes of symptoms similar to yours. I first began having back problems when I was only 19 years old. Hope you get to a pro asap, and I wish you all the best.

I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like either a nerve disruption or poor blood circulation. Either way it could be a result of carpal tunnel syndrome. Do you type a lot? If so, how do you rest your arm?

This could really be several different things. Corpal tunnel, nerve damage in the neck, or you could have slept on it funny or have something inflamed around one of the nerves. All in all, you should see a doctor for a diagnosis, expecially if it continues.

Carpal Tunnel? What were you doing while it happened? Blood flow issues? Maybe your diet hasn't been what it could be? Tough to say, I'm just guessing.

sounds like carpal tunnel syndrom from using a computer, games, etc.
There are some exercises on the web that will relieve it.
I tried them and they worked.

I've had this. Usually it implies that your circulation
is being cut off somehow. You might want to jog
in place, flex your arm. That's basically all it is.
