My brother is 16 years old. I'm 15. I'm like his journal. He tells me anything and everything. He's been telling me about a lot of bad stuff that he's been doing, then lying to our mom about it. Plus he beat a kid up cause he said something bad about me. I don't want my brother to be taken away, but I also can't live with the lies in my mind. I don't know if I should tell my mom, the cops, or what. If you have any advice, please leave it. If not, don't waste my time with stupid answers please.

Last year my brother, who was 16, got into a whole lot of trouble with vandalism and some crazy stuff that I don't want to talk about. I had no idea what was going on but my sister and my brother are really close so she knew everything. She decided to tell my mom and my mom called the cops on him. The cops came to our house picked him up and took him to jail. It scared the hell out of him. He had to do 200 hours of community service and then get a job to pay off the $2000 fine. I think if my sister hadn't told my mom he would be worse than he was last year. He was pissed at my sister for a while but now things are back to normal. I definitely think you should let your mom know whats going on just don't be a huge tattle tale about it just to get him in trouble; do it to help him.

sometimes ignorance is bliss. tell him it really wounds you inside to think he is lying and doing things that will take him outta your life. then tell him your heart can't take living with the lies. then tell him you just can't listen to it. at the same time tell him you really don't wanna be without him in your life and ask him to please clean it up for you from here on out. good luck

i too had a brother i cover for, for many years i did, even took the blame at time, but honest, if you dont talk to you mom,he heading for hard times, an it going to hurt you an your mom, worser,, i try to keep the cop out of it, if i could,,, but you cant keep cover for,,, him,,, he may get mad at you, now but latter on, he ty, ,,i know my brother did, best of luck
