You too can find the truth if you dare to have faith enough.

as·cer·tain (sr-tn)
tr.v. as·cer·tained, as·cer·tain·ing, as·cer·tains
1. To discover with certainty, as through examination or experimentation. See Synonyms at discover.
2. Archaic To make certain, definite, and precise
There is no certainty in the Bible, that is why Christians rely only on Faith, not fact.
I studied the Bible, as well as other things, for over 35 years and cannot ascertain anything except some of the geography.

I think the problem you seem to struggle with is the concept of FAITH.
Let me give you some definition; Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen.
Let me say that differently; Faith is to be certain (sure beyond doubt) of things you do not see.
That is why we are Bible believers and we seem to get worse and worse in believing it. In fact we believe it completely - not because it makes sense, no not at all. We believe it because it has God as its author.
Whether the Bible makes sense (reasonable, logical) or not - that is not the reason we are crazy about it. God is the Author of Scripture, therefore we believe what he wrote is true.

Hbr 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Jhn 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Your right to be an antagonist - I have no problem with it.
You have a problem with your question(s) however. Who is included in 'us?' How do you 'ascertain' something?
Is your 'Truth' subjective? It sounds as though it is from your question.
