I am a 21 yr old male with a 2000 hyundia elantra. I am looking to trade that in and get a practical car with 15k miles or less on it. I just dont know what kind of car to get. I have about 20000$ to work with, i would like something with a V6 that has enough space to carrry friends and a large enough trunk to help witth my move which is comming up. It needs to be 4 door, or be a very spacious 2 door. Please any advice here would be great thanks for your time.!! Mike

Whatever you buy, make sure you check consumer reports for the repair history. You don't want to buy a car that's going to be in the shop a lot. I have had great experiences with Japanese cars, and Toyotas and Subarus are knows for being able to go over 100,000 miles.

p.s. I know we should buy American, and every time I shop for a car I look at American cars. But I refuse to spend my hard earned money for a car that requires too much maintenance. If you check the repair records of different brands of cars, you'll see my point.

Having said that, there are some American cars with great repair records, and if you like the model, then check it out.

Go to Wallyworld and steal one from the parking lot

Volkswagons are good deals, of you're into the whole German engineering scene. They have 3 cars available for under $17,000.
