This is regarding God given gifts or callings in the ministry. God gives anointings of wisdom, knowledge, understanding, healing, prophecy, prayer language, etc. And also the Lord gives ministries; Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers. Some are given more of this gift and much power is in it.
More is given to those who are faithful in litte. Are you faithful in the much you have been given? Are you faithful in the little you have been given? Then more will be given, plus more responsibility with it. (And sometimes people start asking you to do too much, and it isn't asked of the Lord for you to do, and this is a trap.)
The much that is required is the responsibility associated with the gift. Also, accuracy in the Word of God when sharing the Word with others. Also, to produce increase with what God has entrusted one with. That would be the talent parable also.
In a marriage, there is more responsiblity involved than when one is single.

Luke 12:48
"but the one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more."
Verses 45-48 comment on the readiness of a slave for the return of His master. It is similar to the parable of the "Talents", in that each is given and entrusted to do certain things for God, and that we should be faithful with what He has given us.
Vs. 35 "Be dressed in readiness, and keep your lamps lit."

Luke 12: 48 KJV
But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few strips. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be reqiured: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Also, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (to which I belong) there is another verse of Scripture, in the book that we call the Doctrine and Covenants.
D&C 82: 3
For of him unto whom much is given much is required; and he who sins against the graiter light shall recieve the greater condemnation.
