I think that it's wonderful if you can see both sides of an argument. You're not alone in the scientific world either. Best to you.

Most people in the middle don't hang out here so you are going to be far away from most everyone on YA. If you don't want open discussion or you are going to take attacks personally, this probably isn't the healthiest place to hang.

The basic problem is that science just flat out disagrees with several important stories in the Bible. If you can justify that somehow, that is great. But don't expect that to really sit well with either side here. The Bible either is the inspired word of god or it isn't.

I think logically and also believe in God. So we have a commonality there. The reason people like us get slammed is because society is so full of immature, intolerant biggots. It's the way it is, and it seems to be inexorable and unchanging. I believe the best thing to do is not conform to everybody else

Yes. I can cut you all kinds of slack!! Guess what I believe? Give up, because it's pro-choice and no religion in the law. The athesits explained that was the fear and I got it. Made sense to me! I am also for gay marriage and yes I KNOW there's a God!! Live with That and then come back here sometime!! You get smacked from Both Sides!! Just pray when you leave here and wipe your brain down. They can't ever pull me away from God.

I have discussed my scientific-religious views with people on several occassions without getting "SLAMMED". There are actually very few people that are too thickminded to allow you to express your opinion. Your approach is probably the problem.

Sometimes if you just outright say things that could be taken very offensively by someone who has strongly opposite beliefs.

Consider the side of those who oppose you. Listen to their "slamming", then respond understandingly with your advanced point of view. I promise you that if you do this, people will not only listen to you; some of them will come to believe as you believe. Because intrinsically, we're all the same and we all believe the same basic things.

Communication is key.
So explain it to them from their point of view after you have understood them.

You have your right to believe what you want and Christians arent supposed to force their beliefs on others. We are supposed to share the Gospel and let God do the saving and if someone doesnt want to hear it we are supposed to move on and find someone else to share with. However as Christ told His followers in Rev. 3 there is no middle ground, either you are hot or cold and if your warm it makes Him sick. You dont have to accept it but we believe the bible teaches this.

"so i guess if u think logically while u believe in god"

You probably got slammed because this sentence is a contradiction of itself. You can't have God and Logic! Sorry!

Nick, Jesus is my each and every little thing and has been all of my 61 years. I used to get agitated on the Jehovah Witness human beings on my street and everywhere, yet i could consistently provide them a donation as a results of fact I applaud their attempt. no remember what the factors they are out on the streets. i'm unhappy that the young human beings on campus are giggling at them, yet I guess they save on going, do no longer they? This worldwide is getting worse common and that i think of Jesus will return until now long and no person would be giggling then. Honey i could never permit you recognize what to have faith, yet while i replaced into on the backside i got here across Jesus replaced into each and every little thing. possibly in case you are trying him some day you will like him. he's as close as your bended knees.

Believing in religion and science at the same time does a disservice to both disciplines. For one cannot have complete faith in religion and accept the truth of science. Just as one cannot fully accept the truth of science and still believe in the fantasy of religion.

To believe that religion and science can co-exist is to compromise both.

It is probably because people are afraid of science. Science actually proves God more than disproves God's hand in things... I love finding out how things work and what things are... but if they (scientists) try to use their 'wisdom' to disprove God, I just ignore them ... just because they don't believe something doesnt mean it isnt true! I can believe without seeing... and that is when God revealed Who He is to me...

satan will use even our common ground to shake our beliefs.. .and our relationships with other christians... stand upon the Rock... God will guide you!
