no no, the owners should be rounded up and exterminated. Afterall the dog doesn't choose it's behaviour the owner does.

I do object to dog owners who don't look after their pets properly and allow them to be a nuisance.
I have been involved in dog rescue for many years and have seen the sort of dogs you are writing about successfully re-homed to caring, responsible owners and therefore no longer causing problems.
Society punishes wrongdoers in order to teach them that there are consequences of their anti-social behaviour. To benefit from punishment the wrongdoer must know what is the correct behaviour and also he/she must know why they are being punished. Punishment is also used as an example to others to show them what happens if they break the law.
A dog allowed to wander the streets has no concept that what it is doing is 'wrong'. Similarly if it defecates on a pavement there is no way the dog can know that that is 'wrong' either.
Killing a dog that has no concept of what is has done wrong is ludicrous and it certainly won't stop other dogs doing the same thing.
Your logic in dealing with the problem by rounding the dogs up and exterminating them is seriously flawed. The fault and the responsibility lie with the owner.
It is the owner who needs to be either punished or re-educated.
If you think that a dog should be killed simply because it is let out on its own or defecates in the wrong place you need some re-education yourself.
Your moral judgement is also seriously flawed.

The problem is not the dogs. The problem is the owners.
Irresponsible owners allow their dogs to foul pavements, chase other dogs, jump up on people & generally misbehave.
Responsible owners are fed up with people blaming all dogs & owners when it is clearly not the case.I have 2 dogs which are never allowed out on the street witjhout a lead, I clean up after them & have tried to make them well behaved, sociable, friendly dogs.

Well, that wasn't a nice answer...maybe he should be exterminated, the little bastard. I object to people letting their dogs out without a leash because the dog could get killed in the road, screw everyone's stupid lawn/pavement. They could also cause people to get into accidents even if the dog doesn't get hurt. It's irresponsible of the owner to let their dog roam without a leash.

Exterminated?? Its not the DOGS Fault that they are being let out without a Lead!! Its the OWNERS! I think the owners should pay a fine or even have the dog taken away from them! I know if I let my dog out without a lead he would be all over the place! Thats why he never gets off of his lead- EVER!
& Dogs dont know where its OK to poop/pee... Again it comes back to the owners who are supposed to pick up the poo!

They don't love their dogs very much!!!
Occasionally my dogs have got out in the past and it is a worry, but they were rounded up and brought home!!
But my little dog ran off once to often- straight under the wheels of a car. Thankfully he died instantly.
At the time I was too much in shock to really take in what had happened. But I do feel for the poor woman who knocked him down!
So I know the consequences of dogs off a lead and won't make that mistake again!

I am a dog owner, and hate people who let their dogs foul the pavement. We all have to share this world, and we all have to respect each other's space. If you want to own a pet you have to be responsible otherwise you don't deserve it.

I don't think it's the dog's fault that the owner doesn't care for them properly. If they're a danger to people and other dogs, animal control should be called so the dogs can be taken away from the home. They should be given the chance to be placed in loving homes, rather than to be killed for correctable behavior.

As other people have said, its down to the owners to control their dog and clean up after it.
I don't walk my dog around the streets off her lead, but I do let her off in the park where she'll happily run around and come back when called. I always take poopy scoopy bags with me, and theres special bins for dog waste to go in, and as she's the soppiest dog I know I dont worry about her going near over people, though if theres small children who look a bit frightened of such a big dog then she will go back on her lead, but generally if she goes up to people they'll stroke her and she'll just stand there and let them.
But to answer your question properly, yes I do object to that, but I also object to people letting their 'little angels' run riot, dropping litter, screaming, kicking the back of your seat on the bus etc...(but I wouldnt call for them to be rounded up and shot!)

Dogs are man's best friend. They should be allowed to run free around the neighbourhood. The only accidents they cause are from unsafe drivers who were driving too fast to begin with. The only kids they bite are the ones who think it's funny to kick the dog to begin with. People make more litter on the read than an army of dogs pooing on the road.
