i don't think I would actively get involved except to call and report his car number and the time of day and where the incident took place.

However, I have addressed an officer twice at a hospital for blocking a curb used for a wheelchair entrance and the other time for an officer parking his car in the striped area of a handicapped zone.

So you're not the one confronting the cop, driving erratically. Just call the police station and make a complaint on a reckless driver. So the police station can deal with the cop, not you.

I would never pull a cop over, that is driving erratically. The person might get into a power trip and use his badge to pull rank...which is lame. So yeah, I would call the police station and report him.

You better take a course in Law and enforcement. If you did, you would see that an officer while on duty does not have to conform to traffic regulations by State Statute. They are allowed to speed and drive erratically in the course of their duties. However, they are also responsible for any accidents that are directly caused by their negligence in doing so if they are not using their warning lights or siren at the time. So, unless they crash into you and they are found to be the ones negligent by a court of law, you are out of luck. Anyway, you better not try arresting them or you will be the one that gets arrested.

HA! Yeah like that is going to happen.....Good way to get shot. The best thing to do would be call it in to the department listed on the side, most have vehicle numbers, get it and call. A private citizen pulling over a police unit? You really didn't actually think this is a good idea did you?

Erratic driving is a traffic infraction, ergo you cannot be arrested for that. You can only be arrested for traffic misdemeanors, reckless driving, DUI, etc. the really serious traffic offenses.
You would probably go to jail for disorderly conduct, or obstruct official duty, or something to that effect. If you are concerned, grab a cellphone and call the station or dispatch.

Get the number of the patrol car and go to the station to complain. Dont expect them to do anything, though. From what I have seen the municipals are more interesting in charging law-abiding citizens with a triviality than they are in making the effort to get a serious (and possibly dangerous) criminal. They also tend to blow off citizen probable cause. None of this does much for police/citizen relations.

A private citizen pulling over a police officer? Why don't you try it. Apparently you want to get yourself arrested for impersonating a police officer.

No, in most places you can just write down the number of the police cruiser and call it into the station and they'll deal with it. Much like you can call in anyone that's driving poorly.

A friend of mine did it a couple times now. Just because they're cops is no reason to violate the rules.

first difficulty, except you have some style of "information," and except you like being concentrated via community PD, i wouldn't ***** approximately it. i'd forget approximately approximately it. enable it circulate. 2nd, what you're able to endure in recommendations is, whilst "enjoying" with the police (or any regulation enforcement officer) THEY very own the regulations. And the regulations replace reckoning on how they prefer to win. under no circumstances glare at a cop. except they are actually not observing you. yet then are not getting caught obvious via yet another cop. constantly be well mannered, under no circumstances argue, even once you're in the your best option, because of the fact with the police, you're under no circumstances in the your best option. in case you have information that that the police tousled, did incorrect or what ever, do no longer factor this out instant. save it for later, once you could circulate to inner affairs/the supervisor/yet another corporation. on your very own protection, you're able to stick to the instructions of the officer on the scene. as long as those instructions do no longer positioned you in possibility. once you're being arrested, do no longer face as much as. they might call infinite backup from their very own corporation and surrounding agencies. Resisting basically makes you look accountable. i'm no longer a criminal expert, yet I did sleep in a trip inn final night. ;)
