can anyone recommend a small/compact camcorder?

don't know what is best just hard drive or dvd discs. and does anyone have a HDD one? are they worth the extra money? and if i was to buy one in the USA would it be compatible with UK equipment? thank you

Don't buy one that records directly to memory. The quality of the video is very poor. (Like Aiptek). I bought one that records directly to a mini DVD and love it. It is so flexible, and I can play the DVD directly on my computer or DVD player without having to transfer, unlike with hard disks or tapes of any kind.
