they focus on hell

There's been a temptation in evangelism to talk of hell a lot. Probably not so much nowadays. It attuned people of the horror to avoid and so was a powerful motivation to take the message of salvation seriously!
People are often negative, so their minds will often dwell on grisly things more readily than the lovely stuff. I went through a CSI addiction phase a couple of years ago.
Descriptions of heaven are annoyingly vague, but it will be seriously good.

I seriously question the sincerity of any Christian who places more focus on the joys of Heaven over the horrors of Hell. Any Christian who does so cannot be an effective evangelist, because there is no motivation to save others.

Our reward will come in due time. But in the meantime, we have work to do.

I haven't ever heard much about how great heaven is. Except you get to see dead family members there. I'm not sure I'd want to see them. I think Christians like to focus on you going to hell, so they can scare you into coming to church.

Well since they always tell me that I'm going to burn in hell for not believing like they do, I'd say they focus more on hell.

I mean I'm waiting for at least one of them to use the other side and say that if I believe what they do then I'll get a ticket to heaven.

Jesus talked far more about Hell than Heaven. However, I would say Christianity focuses on saving people from Hell.

I focus my mind and hearth on His commandments (to follow His will) so I could go into heaven I want to see how great heaven is; how beautiful is it and I want to see the face of God. I never mind what the hell look like because I don’t want to be there

For the most part it clebrates the glory and love of the Lord , however it really depend on what denominational branch of Christianity with whichyou are affiliated .

I am presently attending a non-denominational Christian congregation ...and g can tell you honestly it is by far more celebratory than the Catholic church I grew up in . Granted , the Catholic church has changed quite a bit since Vatican II , and has become less of the " fire and brimstone, fury and wrath" school of the Word ... but to me , it still wasn't th right fit .

Religion , rather it be Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, or whatever s ets the guidelines usd to find your faith.
Faith is the PERSONAL side of religion . It's what you believe in , and cultivate in your heart; what you lean on in tomes of hurt , or sadness, or what brings you comfort even in tims of great joy. It's what you take with you and hold as your own .
Church is where you bring that faith to share with others.

Good luck on your path , and God bless :-)

How great heaven is but that's just the church I used to attend. The Bible itself talks about both. I would Hate to be a Chiristian if I was only scared into submission though!! Now THAT would be hell for me.

That depends on the particular church and reverend/pastor/priest. My mother took me to a baptist church as a child which stressed the negatives.. never ever went into the new testament, told us what awful sinners we were and that we were always one tiny step away from that road to hell. I know I had friends who did not have that experience. Some churches are middle of the road and alternately focus on both.

From my experience, it depended on the church and even within the same church, it depended upon the preacher. There were some preachers that wanted to teach and didn't just focus on the negative, but for every one of those, there were at least 2 that wanted to scare the beejeebers out of you.
