It usually happens if you drink liquor really quickly. When you are blacked out, you do things/say things without realizing. Like the next morning, if someone says what you did....you won't even know you did it.
Physically, you can be walking around and talking to people, in a blackout phase. It's just that you are so out of it, that you don't comprehend what you're doing.

if you are not USED to dranking and you drink 4 or 5 real quick on a empty stomach then you are prone to just go to sleep. and people will pass out mostly when they have been hardcharging all day . probabbly missed breakfast and lunch, and not had any dinner yet . sometimes its accidental . youthful exuberance. but I will tell ya this. you can die from drinking.one beer will kill ya if you dont know . its best to leave it alone and not even get started . their is nothing in this world that substanciates dranking alcohol. the body does not need it to survive. PS I drink everyday so Im not making this up

Liquor is a depressant, which causes your body and its functions to slow down. This includes your stomach processing the alcohol. when your blood alcohol level reaches a certain point (different for everyone), your body is essentially going into shock and entering the beginning of alcohol poisoning. The effects of alcohol on the brain is that it essentially shuts it down and allows your brain to serve the sole function of keeping you alive. Your body is basically shut down so any remaining energy is used to keep you breathing and your heart working, along with either processing or "getting rid of" the excess alcohol in your system. Other resulting consequences include amnesia, severe dehydration and hangover.

Too much alcohol will cause one to "Not remember" much!! It's like "Poison" for the brain, is all... My brother-in-law, recently had that happen to him, and he had to call my brother to ask, where he lived.. after they had been partying all afternoon.. And my brother asked him where he was, and then gave him directions as to how too get home.. I worry about him, and my sister's health, so much!! It just makes me so sad, for their little girl, she has never seen her parent's "Sober" for very long, and it just breaks mine & our mother's heart, for poor Dani, (my niece)!!! I told my mom, just the other day, that I wish I could do an "Intervention" on my sister, before she ends-up dead, somewhere, or in an accident or gets "Alcohol Poisoning" or something along those lines, you know.. That baby needs to have "Sober-Parent's" just like most kids do!! It just break's my heart, for her!! But, I know my sister would disown me, if I did that to her, and she's my closest sister, too!!! so, that one's a hard one to decide on, you know.. Anyway, good question, and you have a nice day, hun!! Smile!!!

Alcohol puts you're brain to sleep. Getting drunk is similar to going under anesthesia. The first thing to go is control over emotions. That's why people cry or want to fight when they get drunk. If you get drunk enough, the part of your brain that controls memory is affected. It cases a period of amnesia.
