I think so too. I am a Christian but I have a really hard time with Organized Religion and something tells me to think and read for myself. I'm not being wishy washy either. I am very uncomfortable with the idea of sitting in a group and being indoctrinated into Anything!! I still believe in God. I taped that Jesus bones show last night but I haven' watched it yet. Hoping that doesn't throw me off either!! Sometimes a religious person's greatest bad example is another member of their religion!!

The flags of a number of nations have swords in them, symbolizing conversion by the sword.

However, people who claim to be Christians who proceed with "conquering" and the equivalent of "conversion by the sword" are going against the direct and repeated teachings of the founder:

* love your enemies
* turn the other cheek
* pray for those who persecute you
