Try Reiki. The U.K. Reiki Federation has a web-site that will list Reiki Practitioners in your area.
You may also try Limbic Breathing. Breathe in for a count of 4, out for a count of 6 and rest for a count of 6. After 5 minutes of this you should feel relaxed.

Try Yoga. I'm stressed all the time like you. All I do is jog in the morning, relax my shoulders, breathe in for 4 seconds, breathe out for 4 seconds. You will see it works, if not, try drinking milk every night. Believe me it helps me so much to relax my mind. I used to be so stressed and frustrated all the time, now I see it change, if you don't like milk mix nesquike (I don't know if that's how you spell it) DO NOT take any medicines for this because it will only add up to your frustration, you will get addicted to medicines and that's not good. Consult your doctor if you're not satisfied. I hope you can work this out, wish you all the best

I've had a similar problem for years.

These are some of the things that work for me.

Go to the store and look for a pastel blue light bulb. Blue light is soothing and so I use blue light to help calm myself.

Concentrate of nothing. I lay down, and try to focus on my breathing and literally imaging nothings to be a real thing to focus on. It helps reset my brain.

Also talk to your doctor. A low dose anxiety medication may help. There are some good ones out there that are non addictive and very effective. (I've been on one for years and it has done wonders for me.)

You cant turn your brain off so don't bother even trying. I try a lot of the time, but if you want to be successful in life you have to keep your brain constantly switched on. Trust me! There is too many complicated things in life that if you switch off you will never be able to grasp them all.

Do exercise, both heavy duty physical, like running and jogging. Also do isometric exercise like flexing, relaxing muscles while you sit in a chair. (The later you can do while a work or in the car). Additionally, in times of high stress, visualize a "safe, happy" place to go to, like Christmas morning as a kid, or the birth of a child, etc. Visualizing good places and happy times can help you de-stress.
