Five weeks ago I was 11.8 - 11.10 stones. It has been about five weeks now since I started excersising for about 90 minutes a day (45 min morning and 45 min evening). For the first two weeks my weight stayed the same, but now that I checked I weigh at 11.5 stones. Am I doing okay? I am asking because the first two weeks I didn't lose much, what is the reason behind this? I feel a lot better, and I have more energy, but to be honest I look the same.

Weight loss is a combination of diet and exercise, not one or the other. You need to evaluate your diet--are you eating healthily, with lots of whole grains, vegetables, lean meats and good fats (omega 3 fatty acids)? How are your portions? Too big, and you won't lose any weight--too small, and you won't lose either; your body will go into starvation mode, and process your food more slowly.

Evaluate your diet in conjunction with your exercise plan...maybe your portions are too small for the amount of exercise that you're putting your body through, and you are effectively 'overtraining'. Maybe your portions replace all the calories that you burn, thus leaving you at the weight status quo.

Also, weight is still just a number. You say you feel better and have more energy, so you're doing something right. Muscle weighs more than fat, so you may be replacing your fat stores with good muscle tone, which won't tip the scale too much. If you want to lose more fat, make sure you get in LOTS of cardio--muscle training builds muscles, but isn't as efficient at burning fat. Make sure you're getting a good mix of aerobic AND anaerobic activity.

Hope this helps!

Don't judge your weight as progress. Judge how you feel and how your clothes fit. I've been working out for a month, even though I've only lost about 7 pounds I have gone down 2 pant sizes....almost 3 pant sizes, and now I'm on my 4th belt loop when I use to be on the first loops.

I'm having the same experience....
Even after excersising since abt a month.. I don't see any change in my appearance..

Maybe to see more change, it should be continued for a longer time....

if all you're doing is exercising, you might need to change your diet as well. eat a well balanced diet with proper portions and drink lots of no calorie fluids, like water. make sure you burn more calories than you take in.
