I don't think the first 3 answerers were Mormon. See link below for one account of a white Lamanite named Zelph. Now, in my random studies of South America and Central America, which are not exhaustive nor overly scholarly, I have heard much about the Lacandon Indians in Chiapas, Mexico. I think they are down to about 500 of them now. Traditionally they resisted inter-marrying with any of the Spanish conquistadors or their descendants, and yet I have pictures of them at home with some of them as blond as any Caucasian. Most of them are simply lighter in skin color than any other tribe around them, or they have brunette hair and a variety of eye colors. I have not been able to find any information on their DNA, but I'm sure someone somewhere has done some more studies on them.
