I just found out today after getting engaged at xmas. Now he doesn't know what he wants but claims he loves me but doesn't know if he needs me. I am crushed. Are all men pigs?

Is he getting cold feet?
Sit down and talk to him about what changed his feelings. He may just be scared of getting married. A lot of people get cold feet before the wedding. But you need to find out the reason and his feelings before you marry him.

What do you mean he doesn't know? Did you ask him what he exactly meant by he doesn't know...Yes, i think he is scared that you are supposed to be the only woman for the rest of his life...I don't know if you should leave him but he seems like he wants to take a break...if you are content with leaving him and the possibility of him being with someone else then go ahead and not be with him...but i can't believe he has the audacity to be your fiance and say that he doesn't know...Don't let him play you...Because if you don't leave him and get married and he still doesn't know, is going to be trouble...I'm don't want to continue to run on...but that statement is unacceptable for someone that is your fiance to tell you...

You need to sit him down and talk to him. If he isn't sure he loves you, then you need to leave or at least "take a break" and call off the engagement!
Pull away from him, don't smother him! By pulling away he will either come running to you, or running away, then you will know for sure!

If he doesn't know if he loves you, why did he ask you to marry him?
You need couples counseling before you get married. Go now, find a therapist.

He's insecure and is afraid of commitment..... let him alone until he finds his true feelings.
