It seems like us girls always make sure we look nice, we care about looking nice for the guys, acting all sweet to them, etc. but the guys don't seem to care how they dress or what they look like or whatever but they expect US to look nice and wear nice clothes, or at least clothes that look good but they don't have to...what is up with that??

Ware what your comfortable in. Not all guys are like that, trust me...I think its whats inside that really matters. As far as guys looking nice, I like to look nice, but I don't ever want to feel like I have to impress someone.

I am old school. You know, haircare products, color coordinated, good dancer, always have the finances covered on a date, metro-sexual cause I like it. I will open every door that we enter, have you on my arm if that's what you want and basically "I aim to please". So I look at the dating scene today and this is what I see. The girls are looking good to make the slob look good. The guys dress down to impress the other boys and the girls are basically accessories. Am I making sense? As far as taking care of the dating experience, they have to put on a show for there friends like " I ain't whooped!". (actually 'whipped' is what I mean, you know.) So sometimes it looks like a charade of a "date" for the benefit of their Friends. I mean is every guy out there a "RAPPER" ? A "THUG" or what?!? Unfortunately, you have got to try both and see what you like better. I'm not saying that all guys that dress well and treat you right aren't "Players" , but, you have to take the time to accept the minuses and the pluses of each guy as an individual. My problem was that for all I did the Ladies would think that I was a "little to smooth" So ladies, it's always give and take till you fall in Love! ( and then it is still "give & take) Bottom line, have fun cause your'e only young once!

Well, I am a guy and I gotta tell you that the guys your refering to are probaly the only ones youve met or dated. Maybe the way you dress or act attracts those types of guys. I care very much what my girl wears I love when she looks beautiful cause I know its for me, but if her thongs showing I get rather p*ssed cause only I want to see that. And I always try to dress a decent as I can, I know one of my favorite shirts is my girls least favorite but I just try to avoid wearing it on days we hang out, but in the end just find a better bf.

Tell me about it gal. I`ve definitely noticed this MAJOR DEFICIT as well. Its totally beyond me, even try n change his taste n style n his daft friends will friends will make u out to be the control freak. Its jus in their nature i guess, he wants his arm around the honey, thats how its always been. Even if he looks shabby the other men should jus drool at the candy he`s got.
There`s no way around this one dear, guys will be guys....its either he`s a smartness freak or the average scruffy own.
You certainly cant change him so dont even try , the best thing u could do to save yourself from unecessary stress is get used to him. At least appreciate him for his more appealing qualities coz as far as his appearance is concerned 'lookn nice is for us ladies'.

Actually guys clothes are more expensive than girls clothes these days, and i'm pretty picky about how i dress. Girls i shop w/ can usually by 2 of whatever i buy 1 of for the same amount of money.
But it does take me alot less time to get ready, b/c i don't require makeup and my hair only takes about 2 minuetes to fix.

Guys want a girl to be nice looking when they are out in public cause they want to make it look like he hit the jackpot. To raise their value! But knowing a couple of my guy friends they just want to be themselves and don't care what they look like. If you like someone because of the way they dress than that is all you will look at! And if you like them for them than it shouldn't matter what they wear, JUST AS LONG AS THEY ARE DRESSED!!!!!

Yep, that's how it is. Women are eye candy. Are you old enough to remember the saying - "girls are sugar and spice and everything nice?" Well, much of that is still true. That's just how it is... but when you really think about it, there's something kinda nice about being sweet and special. I'm a grandma now, and I still enjoy having my car door opened for me and having my husband tell me how gorgeous I look (at times). Be proud of your femininity.

Guys are just guys, and we are girls. We tend to put make up, wear good clothes and show off between our friends too, while men like it casual, comfy, but even with the casual thing, most of them look absolutely gorgeous, while many girls without their daily make up routine look a bit pale and very different.

You sound a little bitter about something.

My experience tells me that girls don't dress to impress boys, they dress to impress other girls. Guys typically don't care what you wear unless it's extreme in some way.

Try asking a guy what you wore yesterday. he'll have no clue unless you were showing something off.

it's all about beauty magazine which they spend time looking at. They want to be seen with a girl that looks good and dress nice. Their friend are all in it so they have to imoress each other with their friend. Keep on looking good for your man, you might lose him by a girl who does.
