Cornwall is brilliant, especially if you have young kids, but if you are thinking of going during the summer holidays be prepared to take out a second mortgage. The prices at that time of year are obscene. Also, a car is a must.

Go to York and the surrounding area. You are MUCH to late to stay in Cornwall during Summer 2007 - all the cheaper places were booked in 2006.

cornwall is great for outdoors! as is the lake district although that would be a bit boring for the kids, definatly cornwall as there is a variety of things to do, I also stayed in devon, dorset and newquey which are all great for the family

Cornwall, nothing can beat the beautiful sands and the sea and the delicious cornish pasties. Trust me go to cornwall!

Go for Cornwall then. Outdoor activity would depend if you fancy coastal, rural, forest, etc. Centre Parcs are good for outdoor activities.
