My left ear is very clogged, and has been for about 3-4 days now. I'm not sure if it's from a bad head cold that I have or if a little water got into it. I've tried draining out the water (if thats what it is) with alcohol, but it doesnt seem to help. It doesn't really hurt, just more or less a pain in the neck. Any suggestions???

You should never put alcohol in to your ears if you think it's water it will drain if you think it's a wax build up try a cap full of peroxide into the ear canal let stand for about three minutes it will bubble loosening any wax debris closest to the opening, drain out if nothing comes out see a doctor and have them look into it as it might need cleaning that is lower part down in the ear canal.

It may be a wax buildup in your inner ear. I had the same symptoms as you recently & after my doctor examined my ears,he told me to get an otc earwax removal aid called "Debrox." It's # 1 recommended by doctors & pharmacists. It's safe, gentle, & easy to use & works really well. (do I sound like a commercial?) ha ha!! I bought my bottle at Wal*Mart. Your ear problem could also stem from a sinus condition, called sinusitis. If that's the case, your doctor can prescribe an antibiotic & a nose spray. When showering or washing your hair, be careful not to get water in your ear(s) as this will perpetuate the problem. Don't put alcohol in your ear unless your doctor says to. Some people put straight peroxude in their ears but if you don't get it rinsed out well, you will have a bad burning sensation. Fell better soon!

I once had a bad ear infection that clogged my ears, and I followed my doctor's recommendation of pouring a small amount of hydrogen peroxide into the ear canal. Allow it to settle for two or three minutes before turning your head over to let it drain. The effervescance will loosen the blockage and allow it to dissolve.Clean the outer entrance to your ear canal with a moist tissue or Q-tip. Do not insert the Q-tip into your ear! This will compact the blockage, making it harder to remove or worse, damage your ear! The steam from hot shower also helps to loosen the blockage.

Your ears may be blocked with wax. There are various things on the market to clear it. It may be catarrgh in which case you will just have to wait for it to go, but please don't put alcohol in your ears!! Your doctor may need to take a look and suggest syringing them.
