Worms are very common in puppies, if they were white worms, they are either roundworms or hook worms. You have two options, one, you can go to your vet to have your dog dewormed, or you can go to your local pet supply store, or even a Wal-mart to get dewormer....it will run you around $7.00.

It's very common for a puppy to get worms. In fact, many puppies have worms that you don't even see. Puppies are supposed to have worming doses regularly (the 1st one at 3 weeks) to help prevent this, you probably should have asked the people you got the puppy from if he was updated on his worming medicine and shots.
The vet will give you some medication to take care of it, usually within a day or two. It's important to go right away because worm problems can get worse very quickly. He's probably due for another round of vaccinations anyway, so it's definitely a good idea to get him into the vet.

All puppies are born with worms. Take the puppy, along with a stool sample, to the vet. They will test it to see exactly what kind of worms the puppy has. You can buy worm treatment for puppies in the pet store, but it will not take care of all kinds of worms, and so may not take care of your problem. For example, you can't get tapeworm medicine at the pet store, only at the vet. You should always take a new puppy to the vet anyway, because they need to be vaccinated and given a checkup, just as a child would. This is very important, because there are diseases and parasites that a dog can get, and some are fatal.

The vet is your best choice. That pup needs his first vaccinations, a physical/dental exam, and apparently some worm medicine.
The vet can do all these things a lot more accurately that you can with grocery store products. He will also be able to treat the species of worm that is present ...

You have to go to the vet for proper medication. There are over the counter dewormers but they don't kill all intestinal worms. Your vet will be able to look at a fecal sample to see what types of worms he has and will provide you with the treatment to get rid of all of them.

All puppies and kittens have worms, they get it from their mother. Go to the grocery store or pet store and buy some dewormer, for roundworms, you usually put it in some food. Read the directions.
