If actors didn't play the parts it would be very difficult to make a movie. What would you have to play the parts other than actors ? Robots come to mind, but they're too artificial. You probably have a better idea.

Some religions allow it and some don't. Out of respect for all religions they should do it if it's allowed in that religion and not if it's not allowed. Promoting peace and not offending other's beliefs is always a good idea.

AFAIK, it is fine with Christians. My understanding is that Moslems may have a problem with this.
