Why are the ceramic braces more expensive than the metal ones? Whats the perk?

Ceramic braces cost more for several reasons:
1. ceramic is a more expensive material than metal
2. they are colored to match your teeth so they blend in
3. they are less noticeable
4. they don't stain (however, the rubber bands used can stain)

Benefits (perks):
they do not show up in photos
they are more comfortable (don't irritate the gums as much)

Cons:
expense
elastic bands stain (but these are changed routinely)
take longer to work
are larger than metal braces
