I always buy my boyfriend gifts for Occasions-His birthday-Christmas-Fathers Day-Valentines Day...and he never returns the favor. This past Christmas was the first time he bought me a Christmas Gift. Valentins day I got the cry poor bit. His birthday falls before mine this year should I pass from here on out? I was just always brought up to celebrate with your family/boyfriend/spouse/ those times.

I wouldn't buy nothing for him. He not thinking of you. Is he taken this relationship serious. do he got somebody else. I also would read this book for you. You the one going to get hurt the most if the relationship end because you care the most

No you shouldn't buy him anything...Let me explain

When holidays come around you should not feel obligated to buy anyone anything...Don't get caught up in the hype of buying gifts, when you get caught up in petty things like that you loose sight of whats really important. If you want to buy him a gift then buy one.. if you don't want to buy a gift then don't. You should never do something for someone then expect it back, that will just piss you off.. (if you don't get something back) You should do things because you want to..
You can celebrate but you don't necessarily have to buy something... What about the things that you cannot not see Love, support, honesty.
Have you even asked him why he doesn't buy you things or if he wanted something for his birthday?
Always ask, talk and discuss things with him.
* You know him better than we do*

I think he needs to do something for you on these occasions, but you shouldn't be thinking about gift-giving as quid pro quo. Either you honestly want to give a gift, or you just want something in return.

If he can't afford things, why not write each other sweet letters or go out on a date instead of exchanging gifts?
