Need recipe please. Presume Self Raising flour. Used dry ginger powder, sugar, butter, eggs and maybe milk. Baked in paper cases in muffin pan. Icing was just lemon juice and icing sugar mixed with a little hot water and spread on top of cupcake. Delicious childhood favourite treat.

This was researched on the Internet, on the British brands of flour sites, but as the recipe dates back to the 60's, there is no trace of it now. I am hoping a Brit may still have the old recipe book, or remember some more of the ingredients. One other ingredient of the cupcake is Tate & Lyle's Golden Syrup. I am used to experimenting with recipes, and will eventually try to get the correct taste and texture for the cupcake.
