Religion alone has never helped anyone. Religion or any other conviction work beautifully, but only if you decide that you don't want to go the path of your previous life anymore. When you stop hurting yourself with the drugs and alcohol, you will find a part of yourself that's MUCH stronger than you ever thought you had within you... the part you'd kept numb and down.
Not to talk you out of using religion as a means for guidance, but sometimes the fog we're under is a result of a simple chemical imbalance that you've been inadvertantly been trying to "self medicate" with drugs, alcohol and cutting. There are antidepressants which can balance you aout again so you feel whole and have no urge to do destructive things just to increase your seratonin levels. The medication will help lift the fog so you can cope. Drugs, alcohol and cutting are only adding to the problems you're trying to cope with, unfortunately they are (and will increasingly become) your biggest problems. No matter your age, get yourself to a regular doctor (any internist or famioly doctor will do) and see about being put on an SSRI (seratonin reuptake Inhibitor) so that you don't need to self medicate with things that will destroy you and the ones around you. You have the power ro stop the spiral by helping yourself before you reach out to religion. The fact that you show interst in improving your life means that you have the initiative and the will to do this. You will see a whole new world when the fog of chemicals and internal turmoil is lifted.
Just call and make your appointment right now so you can begin living. You've been on "pause" long enough, now it's time to push "play" and live.

Religion cannot and never will solve anything. Spirituality and a deeper understanding of the environment around can. It can help you with any issues you may be facing on any level. That is you have to allow the help. Often, those who need help the most will reject it. Homosexuality is not a disease to be cured. Drugs, alcohol, homosexuality? These are spiritual afflictions many people face. Only the Holy Spirit can help you rid yourself of them, if you want the help.
Anything is possible with God. We are faced with these issues because of original sin. The original sin not eating of the Tree of Knowledge but the disobedience to God by doing something he strictly said not to. By doing this, He knew there was still too much evil existing for there to be a Heaven on earth. It is not the responsibilty of God to solve our problems. We have to do that. That is the choice we have from free will. However, he can guide us down the right path. But He can only show us the door, we have to walk through it....

Religion can't, but Christ can!!!
"I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me."
But ya can't use Jesus as a lucky charm. Yes, He can help with your addictions. There is financial advice in the Bible, check out Proverbs. Depends on what you mean by cure. Jesus never, never promised we wouldn't have woes and problems in this world and to accept Him thinking all your problems are magically taken away is just wrong. However, He did promise to never, never abandon us.
He doesn't always answer prayer the way we expect it to be answered.
Have a great day.

Everything in life has a dualistic nature. A hammer can be used to build a house but can also be used to take a life. So do human institutions of the mind. All religions have and provide moral guidance that can enhance one's life. But there are unnatural mind-restricting characteristics that come with religion. Some of them can be detrimental to human relations and well-being if taken to extremes.

i'm not gonna tell you that i know the cure to all of your problems; however i do know a little remedy that's worked for me many times before....it's called Christ. He knows your struggles, He created and you. and if you will just give it all to Him, he will take care of you. I'm not sayin that if you accept Christ into your heart that things will be easy from then on...however you will have a peace that things will work out for the better. i swear it will work. it works everytime.
