can it harm me to eat the peel of lemons and oranges,not just a wee bit but the whole thing,this is not a crank question ,i really do like the taste but do not want to do my self any harm thanks for your help

The outer rind (zest) can be used in desserts for it's flavor and as well as for garnishes. Inside the outer rind is a white membrane (pith) that is very bitter and should not be used as it is considered inedible.

Probably not.

They put orange and lemon peel in a lot of things (not very much granted) but if you aren't noticing any ill effects from doing it, then more power to you!!

The japanese actually managed to engineer a fruit called a 'satsuma' which is an orange with an edible (to normal people) peel.

I would ask your doctor. I have heard of people doing this but your doctor could be the best person to ask this of.

Uh... if it doesn't give you a tummyache, there shouldn't be anything wrong with it... it's kind of unusual to eat that though.
