Then what will happen to the foundation of Christianity? Keep in mind this is a TV show people? It is purely speculation and not fact.

I think Christianity will survive. However, they will have to learn to think, research, and pray about what they have been told.

The tomb of Jesus is not the issue. Christians agree that Jesus was buried in a tomb. The issue is whether Jesus' resurrection is true.

So, to answer the question you asked, the discovery of Jesus' tomb will do nothing to the foundation Christianity as Christians readily recognize that He was buried in a tomb.

Another interesting question is, "How blindly will atheists and doubters ignore the facts concerning this 'find' in Israel." Especially the opinion of the head archeaologist of this dig who has said that he seriously doubts that this is the tomb of Jesus. No, I suspect they will escape to their own world of 'realism' and make all things conform to their own brand of religion in which there is no god, they are the end of all things and there is no hope.

How do you KNOW that it is just a TV show? There should be REAL study of the tomb, the boxes and the bones, instead of blatant disregard for the possibility. If you have used any kind of telescope (the very thing that Galileo was damned for) and can't accept the fact that there may be proof that Jesus was alive and died like everyone else, then you are a hypocrite.

Bottom line is that people believe what they want to believe. This is true among all religions. IF it was found, then probably a small sect of Christians would break away from the Christian establishment as we know it today. Just as the Christians seperated from the Jews years ago.

It is purely speculation and not founded on fact. However, to answer you question.....An essential part of Christianity, as in all religions, is to live by faith. Trusting, believing, taking action based on faith is all part of life. True Christians will go on living by faith, regardless of what "science" or speculation seems to say.

We all live by faith by the way. You go to work on faith that you will get a pay check on payday. You live on faith that the other guy will stop at the stop sign, etc.

If it's the real tomb of Jesus: the only thing that would change is interpretation of the word. Tradition. Nowhere in the Bible does it state that Jesus never married. It also never says that God didn't give Him a new body. I believe He never married and was resurrected in the previous body, but if you can PROVE to me that I'm wrong (and you can't) I still won't be convinced.

True but some people will believe anything they see on TV. As Chirstians we know that Jesus is not in the tomb and the bones of Jesus are no where on this earth.

It shouldn't affect it. What Jesus taught should be valid whether or not god made his bones magically disappear.

Unfortunately, the faith of many christians is based not on the teachings of Jesus but on the literal interpretation of the bible. Because some of the later writings in the NT talk about the body vanishing, they view this as destroying their faith.

How sad that they do not trust in the words of Jesus and the spirit of god. Instead they fight over words that, at best, contradict each other.

"Oh ye of little faith."

It will do nothing. The only change will be that people will say that Jesus soul got a new body and his old one stayed in the tomb.

God's glory always comes out on top! Christians need to be strong in their convictions, read their Bible every day and pray to be able to help those around them that will be confused by this false media circus.

If it is ever found, then it will be empty, just as I have been told all the days of my life. The foundation of Christianity is solid. And I myself will never waiver.

Peace
