Just suppose this "Tomb of Jesus" was found 1700 years ago and the story was put in the bible. Yet some people along the way took out this story because of conflicts and we now discover "the tomb" again.

Would it still be difficult to ponder the possibilities if you discovered the existance of the removed story. Would you try to re-affirm the truth or just let be?

Don't get all up in arms, just a hypothetical.

I would have to say that with all the evidence that is in the bible that Jesus died and rose bodily that they would have to remove alot more then just one story. Both OT and NT say Jesus rose bodily, they would have to go over the bible with a fine tooth comb. But would it shake my faith or beliefs? No not at all. Why? Because Jesus has on more then one occasion showed me He does exist.

It seems silly to answer this because there are so many eye witnesses that gave their life for an empty tomb.
The Pharisee's said his disciples stole his body. His body was in a tomb, covered by a large rock and guarded by Roman soldiers. Why, if they stole his body or if they really didn't see the tomb was empty AND saw him alive after would they give their life to this lie?
All died a martyrs death except one. Awful deaths all of them. Even his own brothers did not believe him and thought he was crazy UNTIL they saw him after his Resurrection. James according to tradition along with Jude became leaders in the Church and died because of this. When they formally didn't believe him. His miracles didn't even make them believe only him raising from the dead did.
Think about it.

I'm not "getting up in arms," but I would like to point out that it wouldn't be as simple to "take the story out" of the Bible as you suggested. This is because the Christian belief that Jesus ascended to the Father -- in body, not in spirit -- is supported by a multitude of Biblical references. So even if the "story" was removed, we'd still have references such as Acts 1:9-10, which pointedly tells us Jesus ascended to Heaven; therefore, the possiblity that His body exists on earth somewhere can safely be ruled out.

The Christian belief that Jesus died, was buried and resurrected bodily on the third day is a central tenent of our faith. To suggest that Jesus wasn't resurrected is to gut the central beliefs of Christianity. Without the resurrection, we also have no hope of eternal life.
