In 1982 an ossuary was found in Jerusalem. The contents of this ossuary have caused some to question one of the most fundamental doctrines of Christianity.

What "reportedly' was found was Jesus' burial box, an ossuary with the inscription "Jesus, son of Joseph".

I don't believe it did, mainly because I believe the biblical story of Jesus' bodily resurrection. I also don't believe it because there can be no comparison of DNA, no physical chain of evidence. And I can't believe that someone of that time, given the dignity and respect the Jewish people accord bodily remains, would haphazardly scratch the names like that on an ossuary. Did you see how ornate some of the others were shown to be?

The fundamental doctrine being called into question is the bodily resurrection of Christ, something Christianity has believed in since, well, the founding of Christianity. It would call into doubt all the stories of Jesus being in the physical presence of His disciples and the others He revealed Himself to. We, as Christians, believe we are going to receive newer, improved RECOGNIZABLE bodies once we get to heaven. If, and that's a big IF, this tenet is knocked down, the Bible would lose all credibility.

I don't believe they can knock it down, but I believe humanity will do it's level best to try. That way no one can be held responsible for their actions...........true?

Have a great day!

Don't really know what an ossuary is.......it's probably not an important & relevant piece of scriptural history to disprove anything.

if you are referring to the crypt in which the inscriptions read : Jesus, Mary and Jodi somehow i believe the catholics are really freaking out, yea i was raised in that church.... i did always think that the lord did produce a bloodline that the Freemasons have protected through out history.. this would put into question everything and everything we were ever taught ..

Christians will never question their faith on anything like this, and non-Christians will never adopt the faith based on anything like this, so it is moot from that standpoint.
