Ok I will re ask this. The tomb of Jesus was empty plus it was a borrowed tomb he was in. Why do you people believe everything you see on Tv? Jesus never owned anything everything he had was given to him. Even Jesus said the Son of God has no place to lay his head. If Jesus was married why didnt he have a place to live? The bones they found is the bones of the person who let Jesus borrow the tomb. Any Thoughts?

Jesus Christ was resurrected in body and in spirit on the third day. The only thing lying in the tomb were his clothes. It is really hard for people to believe that Satan is really good at what he does considering he has been mastering his skill of deciet a very long time. His main focus is to take away our focus from the Word of God to fall into sin. If he were to say these could possibly be the bones of Christ, that would cause many to question their faith....

Jesus Christ will be revealed with the Second Coming and not before.....

Two tombs are used. One for the body to decay in and one to place the bone box after the bones have been picked clean by the "bone cleaner" and placed into the box.

Since Jesus resurrected bodily on the third day, there was no need for a second tomb. Remember, Jesus appeared to His disciples and said, "A spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." Either Jesus raised bodily or He lied through His teeth to His disciples.

While it very well may be that they've found the tomb of Jesus' earthly family, I believe the alleged ossuary of Jesus to be just that, alleged.

He had no permanent earthly resting place, it was only temporary.

I thought the docu-drama to be skewed to show exactly what the filmmaker wanted shown in order for it to become sensationalist, a money maker. It also seems to me that the names found etched into a burial box would have been done with a little more care and dignity. I like how the one guy in the critique after the show called it archeo-porn.

And for the filmmaker to say he doesn't know what is meant by that cuz he never watched porn............yeah, right. He is looking for his little spotlight of fame. He found it.

Sad, very sad.

Have a great day!

Filmmaker James Cameron is claiming he and some archeologists found the tomb of Jesus’s family. All the casket-like things called ossuaries are empty. I wonder what the archeologists were thinking when they found an ossuary with Jesus’s name on it. I can imagine the moment they removed the lid and looked in. If it were me, I’d wonder if I was going to see one of the following:

1. Nothing
2. Decomposed stuff
3. Jesus sitting up and saying, “What in Dad’s name took you so long?”

If you put an ordinary guy in an ossuary for 2,000 years, he’d clearly be dead. But if I were opening that ossuary I’d be wondering if maybe someone put Jesus in there after he died but before he arose. And maybe it’s hard to get out once you get in. I’d be worried that Jesus arose inside the stone box, and he’d be totally pissed that no one let him out until now.

I realize that this would not be the most rational worry in the world. But I like to base my worries on an expected value calculation. So for example, a 90% chance of getting a sliver would worry me about the same as a .000001% chance of a nuclear bomb going off in the backyard. In this ossuary example, I’d be looking at maybe a 2% chance of waking up an angry Jesus. I say that’s worth a worry.

If Jesus was in there, and sat up when I took the lid off, I’d first try to judge how angry he looked. If he had that money-changers-in-the-temple look, I’d go with a joke, like “Ha ha! Turn the other cheek!” Or maybe I’d try to explain to him that the extra suffering was extra good for humanity, and after all, that’s his job. Then I’d say, “Hey, I don’t like my job either, but you don’t see me complaining all the time.”

I know that some of you will say that if Jesus could move that big rock that was allegedly in front of his tomb in the traditional telling of his life, he’d have no trouble removing an ossuary lid. But he wasn’t supposed to be in an ossuary in the first place, so obviously if this ossuary is genuine, some of the details of the story were wrong. And if God let Jesus be crucified, it’s not a huge stretch of the imagination to think he’d let him stay in a stone box for 2,000 years. It makes sense to save your coolest miracle for when it’s needed most. And I think you’ll agree that this would be a good time for a messiah. And if you were God, you’d want James Cameron attached to this production. So it makes sense to me.

That’s why I’d be a crappy archeologist. I’d be afraid to open anything.

Why are you Christians making such a huge fuss over this?

Most atheists I've seen in this chat/forum/whatever have agreed that the tomb is almost certainly not the tomb of Jesus of Nazareth. That doesn't make them believe your Bible, it just means they think the science is lacking on this tomb to support that claim.

The only thing I have to say about that is this. . No one denies that Christ was crucified and laid to rest in a tomb, where he laid for 3 days. He then resurrected and ascended (a few details omitted for the sake of time) Here is the thing. To the best of my knowledge there is no confirmed sample of Jesus DNA ( Personally I don't think God would allow any, leaving belief an act of faith) So HOW would they confirm that the remains belong to JESUS? It's Stupid.

yea, my idea is that you spend too much time trying to defend urself against NOTHING. its prolly not the tomb of J dog and people are aware of that. The show just brought up some points that make you say hmph. but they dont really sway you. thats not what the show was about, the show was about making you say hmph.

i also believe that jesus owned something because if someone gives you something then it is yours and u own it.

If Jesus had no place to lay his head why was he always staying in hotels? Where did he get the money? Jesus had at least a mother, brothers and sisters. He had somewhere to say.

I think the bigger question, and more important, is if this is the tomb of Jesus, what will happen to Christianity?

I think you're freaking out about possibilities raised by the show. I haven't seen enough evidence either way, it won't change a thing for me. It sounds like you're going into knee-jerk mode, to be honest.
