Physical therapist use massage, but also many other treatment approaches. It depends on the particular problem the patient is having and the cause of it. (For instance, for someone with a herniated disc in their back, massage will not help...but for someone with a muscular strain, it will help).

Physical therapy in the nursing home revolves around restoring baseline functional mobility. This usually includes the restoration of walking, standing, getting in and out of bed, and family training to help patients who will be going home. The treatment approach to restoring these functions is usually theraputic exercise, but also balance and gait training.

Yes, physical therapist do massage patients but it is being done along with other forms of treatment. There are a lot of massages a PT can do, it varies on which condition a certain patient has. PTs working in nursing home are also the same as in those other facilities.

Yes, they do some massage.
physical therapists in nursing homes do the same physical therapy as anywhere else. Nursing homes offer physical therapy to support their long term car units which are almost always losing money.
