Matthew 7:13 = "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go thereat."

This means that it will be hard for a person to know what is truth unless they know what to look for. Answer this question: How does a deceived person know that they're being deceived unless they are deceived? It takes a process of knowing truth and error. We're brought up one way of thinking: if you do not hear both sides; then how do you know if you have truth or error.

Now to understand this better; doesn't the majority of people believe in one way: well they believe Jesus died Friday and Rose Sunday, Trinity Doctrine, Sunday keeping and etc. Are these really biblical or man-made doctrines? Where did these doctrines come from? Are people really following Christ or the world?

Now didn't Jesus tell us there would be many false prophets and false Christs in Matt.24:24. It also tells us in 1Jn.4:1-3 that there are many false prophets. Now how do you know which one's are false? Pretty simple; you have to look in the Bible for more information.

It tells us that Anti-Christ means "against Christ"; in other words is against Jesus and his teachings.
PHIL.2:21 "FOR ALL SEEK THEIR OWN, NOT THE THINGS WHICH ARE JESUS CHRIST'S."

*****************************************************************
Matt.7:14 = "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth to life, and few there be that find it."

1COR.3:18-19 = "Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness."

Note: I was in 1st Babylon(crowd) a lot of years til I received a pamplet in the mail. As upon this pamplet; I went to these meetings of this church. I was scared at first because most people said it was a bad church, but I went anyway to try it out. It seemed at first they were telling me the truth because they backed it up with scripture. Yes this church had some truth, but not all the truth. I thought at first it was God's Church. As being in this church 6-1/2 years; I found alot of things talking to God and having him guide me as James 1:5 says.
JAMES 1:5 = "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."
As he called me out of 2nd Babylon into his church; I found out how people twist contexts around or assume things that are not in the Bible. I also found out when you're in truth and call upon God --he will guide you into all of his truth like he did me.

I believe one key to becoming a Christian is to deem all denominations inferior, and find Christ through the Bible, while trying your best to look into the Hebrew and Greek words between the English translations of the Bible.

There are many denominations and many of them have good points, yet all of them have bad points as well.

I can think of a few things I agree with that the Witnesses of Jehovah believe, Catholics believe, etc. But what it all comes down to, is finding what the Bible teaches.

Just because someone can stand before a crowd, and say "the Bible says this" and "this verse means that," while a majority or even minority of a society believes it, does not mean the Bible says it or the verse is properly interpreted.

The popular (and even unpopular) denominations of Christianity could be the wide road Christ spoke of, but the few that have the relationship with Christ that the Father intended are not walking down that road, but a much thinner one.

Your quote is correct ..your assumption that the majority are Christians is not ! You need to ask the question as to what is a Christian as described in the Bible & then you will understand why most take the wide road .

To anyone who thinks the majority of people aren't Christian, there are estimates that put Christianity with 2.2 billion people world-wide, the next closest being Islam at 1.4 billion. That seems like a good majority to me.

Second, there will be many more souls destined to Hell than there will who taste the freedoms of Paradise.

Yes Jesus did say that. Some do take the wide road. What others do should not effect your decisions. You will still have to decide for your self. Good luck in your search.

you do not seem to understand the english here.

even literally.....a wide path does not mean the majority of anything even travels on it.... majority and wideness are two different concepts. you can have a narrow road with heavy traffic, and a wide road with no traffic

Jesus was speaking spiritually.... by a narrow path , he meant that there were restrictions to behavior ..obedience and faith was required...you could not just do anything you wanted....

"anything you want" means no restrictions....and the wide path. which allows more to get by, and is easier

You're missing the picture.

The road is wide because there are many things that you can get caught up in. The road to heaven is narrow because we have a structured path set before us and spelled out in Bible.

...who is teaching you...? Jesus is trying to show you that the road is in fact wide...(hell and damnation)... but "we" are individules that follow the teaching of One-God... not a mass of drons as the cults... Jesus is telling "believers" that there is not a lot of "wiggle-room" in our journey to eternity... but if we are faithful our reward is Supernaturally wonderful ! and why do you call believers "Christians"...? He clearly said he was "the Way the Truth and The Life"... the early church that followed His teaching was known as followers of "The Way".
You can use "Christian" if you like... Christ being the "Chosen One"... that's Ok... but you have a choice... you can choose... it's up to you... Shalom.

It's a metaphor, silly.

Besides, the number of people who claim they're christians and the number of christian who believe and actually understand what it's all about are very different. By the way, the majority of people aren't christians. we are about 1/5 of the world's population.
