I have booked a holiday to New York for my birthday - does anyone know of any good restuarants or places we can go in the evening to celebrate in style?

The rivercafe is the best restaurant i have ever been to. Stunning food, with an amazing view of New york. Over the years, they have produced many of America's best chefs...

Or you could try Gorden Ramseys new place that he just opened last month - it's getting rave reviews by the critics! Either way - your night will be unforgetable if you eat in either of these 2 places

Enjoy - it's an awesome city

A few of the best places in New York are:

* 116 E 16th St, New York, NY You can sneak kisses all night long at one of the candlelit restaurant's romantic banquettes.

* Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts Columbus Ave, New York, NY Stage your own theatrical moment by the dramatically lit fountains in the courtyard.

* Art Bar 52 8th Ave, New York, NY It's so dark inside this West Village hangout that no one will know what you're up to.

* Empire State Building 350 5th Ave, New York, NY Though many have gone before, go ahead and steal a kiss as the city twinkles beneath your feet.

* Daniel 60 E 65th St, New York, NY Few people know that amorous couples can make reservations for dessert in the lounge at the sumptuous French classic.

* Bubble Lounge 228 W Broadway, New York, NY A sparkly standby that makes any occasion special.

* La Lanterna Caffe 129 Macdougal St, New York, NY Coffee is just the beginning at this quaint, romantic cafe.

You have to go have "frozen hot chocolate" at Serendipity as a speail birthday treat while you are in the CIty. There are too many restaurants to pick, but stay away from Times Square. Depending on your mood and price range, check out chowhound,.com and select New York. Those foodies know of some great places.

Capsuto Frere on Washington and Watts Street - this place is lovely, the food is excellent and the waitstaff is wonderful. They have great souflees for dessert - perfect to feed each other. They have excellent appetizers - what's more romantic than seafood cake with a lobster and white wine sauce or a lobster napoleon? They have a $35 prix fixe dinner with some good choices.

You should try the Skylight Diner in Manhattan for an authentic New York feel and it isn't packed on a Saturday so you can have some privacy with your party!

My favorite restaurant in New York is Asia de Cuba. It's got a great, fun atmosphere and excellent food. If you like Mexican, Rosa Mexicana is also very good.

I have to agree with "Mr. C" the River Cafe in Brooklyn is fabulous. Have been lucky enough to go several times. Also try Ruby Foos in Manhatten on the Upper West Side. Great Pan Asian food.

If you really want to blow your mind, go to to Balthazars in Manhatten, but bring your wallet it's seriously expensive, but worth every penny.

In the event it's a fruit it includes seeds, otherwise it's a vegetable. And vegetables are usually grown in the ground while fruits are grown in trees.
