I have raised him to have faith in Christ and he does. He also lives with a brain injury and disease which gives him many symptoms of mental illness. Last week, the doctor changed his medication; he had violent hallucinations and a serious relapse yesterday. He is presently in a Crisis Unit, because there are no hospital beds available in the mental health center.
Will you pray that his condition will stabilize and for his recovery?
We have no other social supports in our situation. Few people understand brain diseases and mental illness, and even fewer when it happens in a Christian home. I thank you for your prayer support.

Thanks for your replies, everyone.
And I do mean everyone. When I read the gospels, I see all of the harsh realities of life, and the Lord Jesus is there in them. I just can't stop crying right now; I'm so exhausted and over-whelmed. Thanks for being there for us.

My son's condition worsened today and a place was made for him at the psychiatric center. He doesn't know me now, and will be re-assessed for medications tomorrow.
Please keep us in prayer.

I am a Christian, and I've worked with the mentally disabled most of my life. I WILL be praying for your son. Violent reactions are terrible, but often happen, when meds are changed. Hallucinations are horrible for you to go through, worse for your son, of course. Remember, he BELIEVES that what he sees is real...................to HIM, it IS real. Be loving and supportive, and follow your dr's directions regarding all of this. I DO understand brain diseases and mental illness, as far as possible. I have cared for many mentally ill patients in my working years. I'm glad you have FAITH, because that is what will get you through this particular crisis, and through any that come in the future. Is your son dangerous to you at this point? Be SURE to write how he has reacted to THIS particular medication DOWN, where you can find it! Drs are notorious for ordering the same medication that put your son in this crisis, again, in the future. He is allergic to it. My father was mentally ill. He was given a drug that totally sent him into hallucinations and nearly killed him. This happened, although, his file had that medication in RED on his file, and no one 'noticed' when they gave it to him. Let me know how your family, YOU, and your son are managing. God be with you. Gladys

I have prayed for you and your son. This is a hard thing you are going through. I know that brain injury illnesses are hard for many people to understand. Your son is very lucky that you understand and are standing by him.
It does not sound as if your son's doctor is being very careful as far as follow up on your son. I know that no one can predetermine how a patient will react to a medication, but your son should have been more closely monitored.
As you know God will not allow more to happen than we have the resources to handle. Please continue praying for recovery but also pray that a situation or treatment will open that will better help you and your son cope with his illness. That is my prayer for you.
God bless you.

I'm sorry for what you are going through, The Lord is always with us. I will pray for your son & you I'm praying as I'm typing. Remember The Lord Jesus Christ is with us always, he doesn't do anything we can't handle or fill our plate to full, even though it seems like it. What ever your son health does Jesus is doing his work. Keep your faith and keep praying. God Bless You and your son.
P.S. To those of you who arent Christians why are you writing things to this woman when she specifially asked for only Christians to answer.

Oh yes, I know the Christian crap well when it comes to mental illness, "Just let Jesus cure you!" and of course the all time favourite, "You don't have enough faith that's why (fill in the blank)" I don't think I'll pray since there is a god but, he's an ******* and life is no precious gift and death doesn't sound much better, but I'll be thinking of you. I hope things get better for you and your family. Sorry if I offended you, I was made in God's image.

I have said a small prayer asking my Lord to perform a miracle. May he also put his divine hand on you and give you peace and serenity.
